  • “friends will be friends. when you’re in need of love, they give you care and attention…”

Ah… Feels so good to be back again. I still can’t tell you what happened a few days ago, but here’s a hint: it really broke my heart. Thank God, I have very wonderful friends! They took me to fun fun FUN getaways 🙂

On Friday, Entin took me to Ciwalk

There was an event held by MNCTV where we could find characters from cartoon series aired in MNCTV. We took pictures with Shaun the Sheep, Upin & Ipin, and many more. After that, we bought donuts in J.Co 🙂

On Saturday, Mijra and I went to WS Gatot Soebroto

It was kinda hard, actually, to go to WS yesterday. It made me think about certain things that broke my heart. But I went there with Mijra, so yeah… She entertained me with her silly-ness. Haha! 😀

On Sunday, Angga and I went to Padalarang

We took train to Padalarang (his first train ever!) and went to Science Museum in Kota Baru Parahyangan. After that, we went to Situ Ciburuy and had lunch there. The museum was fun, but Situ Ciburuy was out of my expectation. Haha! Going there was such a waste of energy. We actually walked to get there from Tagog, can you believe? Haha! But it was fun, though… 🙂

I’m so glad to have friends like you, guys! *hugs*

    Sincerely,
    Putdar.

  • getaway day 2: bekasi

    *WARNING*
This post is super heavy. There are a lot of pictures and a long writing.

After messing up in Jakarta, my friends and I went to stay overnight at May’s house in Bekasi. We took a Kopaja, a bus, and an angkot to get there. We arrived at about 9.30pm. We changed clothes and gathered in the livingroom, to play with light and Afief’s borrowed camera.

Defri tried to make an elephant for me. Too bad he couldn’t finish it on time…

We slept waaay too late that we got up at 7.30am. Being the lazy and tired people that we were, we didn’t take a bath but gathered at the livingroom, watching Saturday morning cartoons. It wasn’t until we found out there were no more cartoons that we realised it was already 10.30! We finally took a bath and got ready to leave May’s house.

Midday, we left May’s and went to the nearest mall. May and Rima didn’t join us because they already had their own plans. We played Pump It Up and some other games.

Afief beat me in this table hockey. I want a re-match!

After everybody got the chance to play Pump It Up, a guy came to the game machine and started to play AMAZINGLY! I mean, all I knew about Pump It Up was that you were supposed to step on the right floor according to the display. But this guy, he did this freestyle dance and he didn’t just step on the floor with his feet but also with his hands, elbows, and knees!

Dear up-side-down sir, would you want to give me a little bit of your skill?

We all got sweaty and smelly… and hungry! So we went to grab a lunch and did the last shopping before we went home. Look what I found for only IDR6,000!

My sister called it “a bearded elephant” but I’m pretty sure that it is widely known as a mammoth.

We went out of the mall and waited for our bus to Bandung. It took us a pretty long time to wait for it. Just look at our faces. Haha!

When the bus arrived, we ran and chased it. It was already crowded, but luckily we got seats. Our journey back home was pretty smooth because the bus took a route through the highway. It took us about 1.5 hour until we got to Leuwi Panjang. Vicky went home rightaway, while Afief, Defri, and I each had a bowl of meatball before waving good bye. Dad came to pick me up and the boys took angkot to go back to their dorms.

And so the getaway ended. It was exhausting. Jakarta was hot and confusing. But it was fun! We really should have another getaway as soon as possible ;D

    Sincerely,
    Putdar.

PS. All pictures are courtesy of Afief, except for the mammoth and the up-side-down dude. You might also like Afief’s version of the story.

  • getaway day 1: jakarta

    *WARNING*
This post is super heavy. There are a lot of pictures and a long writing.

    What an exhausting day!

Well, I should open my post with this information: we missed the train.

Yesss! We actually missed it. By about 10 seconds.

I was already in Bandung railway station 10 minutes before the departure time, which was 5.30am. I texted and called my friends and they all said that they were on their way to the station. And so I waited and I waited. They actually came right on time… when the train started to drift away. We got to wave at it. God… We decided to catch the next one at 6.30am, but unfortunately we didn’t get a seat. So we stood from Bandung to Bekasi. We were lucky enough to have two empty seats and two more after a lady and her daughter got off at Bekasi. It was fun, though. We were the only people who talked during our journey. We talked about so many things and laughed at a lot of things. We were meant to be backpackers, right? So, getting no seat in the train was acceptable :p

At about 10am, we arrived at Gambir. We walked to Monas and took some pictures there, and then we asked people around for the free shuttle bus that could take us to Kemayoran (where the Jakarta Fair was held). We walked from Monas to the bus shelter to find that the shelter was empty, the bus wasn’t there yet. We decided that we didn’t want to wait any longer, since it was very hot there. So we took the bajaj.

After holding back the pain in the butt for a few minute, we finally got to Jakarta Fair. Yay! 😀

But, wait a minute… Why was the place so empty? Well, it turned out that the fair started at 3pm. What on earth were we doing there at 11.00am?! We sat there for about 30 minutes, thinking what we should do. Vicky suggested that we go to the nearest mall, just to cool down. But malls were million miles away. And it was Friday, so the boys had to do the Jumat prayer. We then decided to find a nearest mosque by using Afief’s GPS. Luckily there was one in 950 meter from us. We walked following the direction from Afief’s GPS. We walked and we walked and we walked… Still no sign of a mosque. We just kept walking until we arrived at this Al-Ihsan mosque (Mr Boyfriend’s name!) The boys proceeded to do the prayer while us girls waiting for them at a cafe. We ordered four drinks there.

A few minutes later, the boys were back and they sat with us. They didn’t order anything because us girls didn’t finish our drinks, so they finished them. And the owner of that place yelled at us for spending too much time there. I still can’t believe how rude she treated us as her consumers! We paid and we left right away. Jakartan people are so mean!

It was still 1pm and Jakarta Fair was still closed. So we went back to the mosque and stayed there for a while. We prayed and we took a nap. At 2.30pm, we left the mosque and went to have lunch. At 3.30pm, we finally got in the Jakarta Fair! 😀

Jakarta Fair… was kinda boring and disappointing. It wasn’t like what I had imagined before. It was basically an expo where merchants sold goods. There were kitchen and house appliances, clothes, electronics, cars, food, etc. None of which had caught my eyes. But I didn’t go home with empty hands. Why? Because I found an elephant hand puppet! 😀

We walked around in the fair for about 3 hours. After that we went to May’s house in Bekasi, which will be told in the next part of the getaway series 🙂

    Sincerely,
    Putdar.

PS. All pictures are courtesy of Afief. He also wrote our story in his blog. Go check it out.

  • i’m going to jakarta! (a happy post)

So, after being postponed a few times, I’m going to Jakarta on Friday. Yeah! 😀
(Read this post if you don’t have any idea as to what on earth I’m talking about.)

This morning, I went to Bandung Railway Station and bought tickets for the seven of us. Ah… I can’t believe how excited I am to go to Jakarta. I still remember how I hated the big city February last year, but this year… I love it!

I may not blog for the rest of the week because of this trip. So… I guess I’ll see you later? 🙂

    Sincerely,
    Putdar.

  • this is how i spent my yesterday and half of my today

Before you proceed to read the whole post, please note that this post is image heavy and was written when Blogger was down yesterday. So please set your brain calender to yesterday (that way, you wouldn’t be confused if you read “yesterday: Wednesday”)

I woke up at 7am today. Three cups of Cappuccino later, I still haven’t taken a bath yet. Nor have I had breakfast and lunch. I’m still on my bed and it’s already 2.26pm. This gloomy summer day makes me feel a little bit lazy. Okay, I’m lying. I’m sooo lazy and my stomach is still a little bit sick, thanks to the bus I rode yesterday.

Oh yes, baby, I rode a bus yesterday. To Cipanas. Yesss, guys, that’s where I’d been all day yesterday.

Our original plan was to go there at July 4 (Mr Boyfriend’s birthday), but on Monday we decided to just go there as soon as possible: Wednesday. We got out of his place at 7am and arrived at his family house at about 11am. A pretty long journey, though Cipanas is not that far from Bandung, actually.

After having lunch we went to Taman Bunga Nusantara (The Nusantara Flower Garden) accompanied by his little brother (our photographer for the day :p). I really had a great time there. Unfortunately, I couldn’t stay there for too long because I had to go home before the night came.

Before going back to Bandung, however, I still got the chance to go to Kota Bunga and took a few pictures (including the one with two elephants below :D)

I’m absolutely going back to Cipanas as soon as possible!

    Sincerely,
    Putdar.
