  • The Student Teaching Examination

I finally had my examination for the student teaching programme I am on this morning. I had been nervous and anxious all day yesterday, but the examination turned out to be far from what I had imagined. It went naturally; very, very naturally that for some moment I forgot that I was being observed by three observers. I chose the XI IPA 7 class to teach for the examination and the students were very supportive and helpful. I knew that I didn’t prepare for the examination too well, but they could get along with my weird lesson plan and I could perform quite well and did not become nervous at all. I should thank each one of my students and hug them very, very tightly!

I should also thank A for being uber supportive and being there when I need something to rely on. Yesterday when I was feeling anxious, didn’t want to go home, and decided to stay in McDonald’s for hours after dark, he came over and accompanied me there. He also helped me with a teaching media. He even came to my school this morning to bring me some stuffs I had forgotten to buy yesterday. He’s the best thing that’s ever come into my life. I’m such a lucky girl.

The last person I should thank is Velentina. She’s been very helpful during the programme and the examination. In fact, she’s always been very helpful all these years we spend as college students. We’re like partners in crime when it comes to procrastinating and pulling an all nighter as its consequence. Haha!

    I love you guys 🙂

  • Last Week in a Nutshell

The whole last week was cray, cray. I had four day-offs due to the National Examination yet I didn’t have time to blog anything because as soon as I came home, I passed out in bed. But last week was fun fun fun!

    Tuesday
On Tuesday, we went to Dunia Fantasi. It had been 10 years since the last time I went there. A lot of things had changed, including the line in every ride. We spent almost 1.5 hour waiting in a line to try the phenomenal ride Hysteria. And then we spent another 1.5 hour waiting in a line in McDonald’s to get our lunch. We ended up going home after having lunch since we’d got our ticket back home and we didn’t want to miss the train. But it was fun, though. It was the first time we went out of town together.
    Wednesday
Wednesday was the graduation day for some of our seniors. Attending their graduation day boosted up our willingness to finish our final paper as soon as possible. Haha!
    Saturday
A had his 23rd birthday on Thursday. I gave him a little surprise by coming to his place early in the morning, bringing one gift for his birthday and another one for our anniversay (which was on the same day). But the surprise wasn’t over yet, as I brought him a birthday cake (plus the unblowable candles) on Saturday. We had a good laugh for about 1 minute and 20 seconds as he tried (so hard) to blow the unblowable candles. He made it, though. Happy birthday, My Darling A! 🙂
  • Life Lately

Hi! Just stopping by to share some updates in my life recently. After some silly posts telling you all about what’s going on in my mind, let me tell you now what’s going on in my life.

Remember the student teaching program that I told you two months ago? The programme is supposed to last until May, but it looks like mine will only last until early April. Good to know that I would get some spare time to revise my final paper proposal and submit it in time. I can’t afford being late and not being able to submit it again. No way!

And today, my boyfriend and I decided to (finally) do a photoshoot sesh in a proper studio. The result will come out on the coming Monday, so I’ll share it here later.

    Now, how’s your life lately?

  • Future

You know what I hate about being in early 20s? Those talks about future, i.e. job and marriage. It wasn’t until I turned 21 that I realised how I had wasted my life when I was still a teenager. I should’ve done better than this. I regret a lot of things, including my university and major choice. I shouldn’t have taken education major as I don’t really want to be a teacher. Now I want to be an editor in a magazine, whilst my parents still want me to be a teacher. The conversations about job and career aren’t going anywhere with them and it drives me crazy.

And marriage. MARRIAGE! Boy am I still 21. I don’t understand those people (non family) who keep talking about how and why I should get married soon. It’s not like I don’t want to get married asap, but enough with the talking already! Might as well just wait for the good news and mind your own business. Why don’t you get married soon? And why is it your business when my own parents haven’t even mentioned it?

Now getting back to the first topic, I need your help:
In your opinion, what are the reasons why teaching is awesome? Why do you think I should be a teacher?

  • The Reason Why I Haven’t Started Writing My Skripsi* Yet

As a fourth year university student, I fully understand why you guys keep asking me about the same thing: skripsi. A lot of my friends have already started writing theirs now, and yet here I am still not giving a damn about it. Don’t get me wrong. Of course I want to be able to graduate as soon as possible; I have dreams to pursue, after all.

My skripsi proposal is ready to be submitted, actually. It has already been since January. But another requirement for submitting it is a minimum PTESOL score of 500. Alas for me, I hadn’t got the chance to take the test until one day before the D-day of skripsi proposal submission due date. (Ya know, after all the haze and craze about Antigone, I had to face the student teaching programme right away.) That is why I have to wait until May, when the second term of skripsi proposal submission is due.

Don’t worry, though. Because I passed the minimum PTESOL score requirement.

    613, dude!
