  • Spontaneous Family Trip to Jogjakarta

My dad has always been full of surprises. One Saturday morning when I was in eleventh grade, he woke me up and said “Get up, dear. We’re going to Pangandaran.” I packed my bag, took a bath, and we left our house an hour later. That was the very first time I went to Pangandaran.

Last Sunday morning, he did that again. He told the whole family that he was going to Jogja to attend a meeting and asked us if we would like to go too. My mum had never been to Jogja, so she was in. But since I had a meeting on Sunday afternoon, the trip was postponed until the next morning. On Monday afternoon, the four of us arrived in Jogja.

Dad’s meeting was on Tuesday. While he was away, the rest of us stayed in our hotel room all day. It was sunny out there and we couldn’t stand the heat, so we decided to go shopping after dusk. We took a stroll around Malioboro and bought some stuffs that night. The next day, we checked out from our hotel early in the morning and left to Mendut and Borobudur. We didn’t stay very long there as it was so very super hot! We left at around 10 AM and went straight home. Twelve hours of driving and then we were finally home. The cats were super stoked to see us back (A fed them and took care of them while we were away. He’s the best cat daddy, ever!).

That was perhaps the only thing I like about this whole unemployment thing. It could possibly be the last spontaneous trip I could join, though, since I just got a job in an educational institution. I’ll start on Monday. It feels so fast but I really hope I can do it. Here’s to being a (real) adult!

  • Mount Tangkuban Parahu with A’s Family

My boyfriend’s family visited the city for four days to attend his graduation ceremony, which was on Wednesday. And on Thursday, I accompanied them to Mount Tangkuban Parahu. It had been ages since the last time I went there, like… elementary school, perhaps? So it was quite exciting to visit the mount and its biggest crater, Kawah Ratu, again. I didn’t bring my camera with me. I didn’t take any picture with my phone either, so these pictures were all taken with my boyfriend’s phone. I also noticed that we didn’t take any picture of the scenery; they were all of our faces. So narcissistic, no? LOL :p

  • Pekanbaru in Some Pictures

It’s been more than a week since my trip to Pekanbaru. It’s kinda too late to write a post about it, but I need something to write about anyway. So here are some pictures taken during the trip. Some were taken by me, and some others were taken by my co-workers.

  • My First Time in Kawah Putih

I must say that I feel kinda ashamed that I hadn’t been to Kawah Putih before. It is a famous tourist attraction in southern part of Bandung; a crater of mount Patuha. Last Tuesday, I finally got the chance to visit the crater with A. It was already chilly in the lower part of Bandung, so it was super cold up there. Plus the wind was blowing very hard, making it quite hard to breathe in the sulfuric air. It took us two and half an hour to get there and yet we were only allowed to stay for 15 minutes at most, since the sulfur level was pretty high. But even if we were allowed to stay more than just 15 minutes, I don’t think I could stand the cold wind and the smell of the sulfur.

Also, see those boots I wore? A bought them for me. I love them so, so much! Bandung has been cold and raining for the past weeks, so I wear them almost everyday. I’m thinking about buying more leggings and jeggings to wear with them. What can I tell? I’m in love 🙂

  • Roadtrip to Jakarta

You know that some people (or somebody?) say that the cure for a broken heart is salt water: tears, sweat, or the sea. I’d like to add that beside salt water, a roadtrip also cures the pain. I had both on Saturday.

Vicky and I had been talking about taking a roadtrip since two weeks ago. There were two plans back then: Jakarta or Cianjur. Since Vicky never drove too far from Bandung, the two options were the only possible destinations. We decided to choose Jakarta and go to Ancol beach. We also asked Irma to join us and so on Saturday morning, we went on our very first roadtrip.

The road to Ancol was not very packed, as it was highway all the way there. There was only some traffic jam in the tollgates, but other than that, it was just fun. We arrived in Ancol at around 11am. We only spent two hours there, taking pictures and sitting around. We went home at 1pm because we had to be home by dusk.

This was really fun. We should do this more often.

PS. Thank you very much for all the loves for Billy. I don’t believe in pet heaven or the like, but I’m sure all the good souls will go to a better place when they leave this world. Thank you very much. It makes me feel better to know that he is loved even after he is gone.
